The future of Maglev Trains
The future of Maglev trains lies in the technology itself, with the leaning and adoption of magnetic trains becoming higher and research & development of relative fields of sciences will increase the commercialization and viability of the technology.

Cost Reduction
By eliminating friction, maglev trains use less energy and can significantly reduce costs. For example, while every high-speed rail passenger pays one dollar for each mile traveled, maglev passengers could pay as little as 5 cents per mile, says James Powell, director of the company Maglev 2000 and a co-inventor of superconducting maglev trains. This change of economic terms could make maglev trains a lot more affordable and viable to implement. |
Vactrain
Vactrains are a upgraded form of Maglev trains in vacuum tubes, the lack of air resistance allows the train to travel up to 4-5000 mph, which is 5-6 times the speed of sound using relatively little power. However without critical advances in tunneling and maintaining a vacuum tube, the cost of implementing such technology is critically high. |
